The Blue Devils showed no rust after 10 days between games as they blew by the Brooklyn Hurricanes 80-34 on youth night. The up and coming basketball players in Independence got to watch the current varsity play a very clean, crisp and pin point effort in the first half, posting a 52-19 half time lead.
Haylee Dmitruk dissected the Brooklyn zone to get her teammates open looks at the basket, tallying 6 assists. Riley Wilson, Anna Weber and Kella DiGeronimo benefited form those passes scoring 25, 13 and 12 points respectively. Madison Stepanik also added 12 points along with 8 rebounds as shown owned the lane at both ends of the floor. The rest of the Blue Devils scoring included Kara DeSmith collecting 7 points, Haylee Dmitruk drained 6, Kate Coljohn hit a 3 and Natalie George netted 2.
The Blue Devils are now 13-0 and 9-0 in the CVC and travel to Kirtland Saturday for a tough CVC contest.
