The Blue Devils arrived on time for tip-off but the defense waited until the second quarter to show up in a 70-44 victory at Wickliffe. Offensively the Devils were consistent and well rounded, overcoming a big start by Wickliffe’s Martin and her 14 points. Amy Ksiazka and Reni Kaiser took turns shutting down Martin in the second quarter, holding her scoreless and Wickliffe to 6 total points. Team defense held Wickliffe to 8 third quarter points, leading to more offense as the Blue Devils posted 18 points and separated themselves from the host team.
Riley Wilson had a solid performance with 17 points with 8 rebounds and Madisoin Stepanik added 12 points to lead the Blue Devils. Eight more Devils scored led by Haylee Dmitruk’s 9, Kaitlin Richards tossed in 8 and grabbed 12 rebounds, Anna Weber nailed two 3’s for 6 points, Amy Ksiazka and Erica Esper both scored 5 each, Hailey Wilmot and Brook Pillar recorded 3 a piece and Kella Digeronimo notched 2 points.
The Blue Devils (13-2, 9-0) travel to Fairport Wednesday for another CVC road game.
